Knysna Cycle Tour

Held annually during the June/July school holidays, this iconic cycling event is a highlight of the Knysna Oyster Festival. Set against the stunning landscapes of Knysna, our tour offers races for all ages and skill levels, from scenic road races to thrilling mountain bike routes. Whether you’re here to ride or cheer, join us for an unforgettable experience that celebrates community, adventure, and the joy of cycling—all in support of local charities.

MTB, Road Bikes, E-Bikes, and gravel bikes are all welcome.

An exhilarating two days riding!

MOUNTAIN BIKE RIDES – 12 July 2025

Ride through dense indigenous forest, surrounded by towering trees and lush ferns. Choose between a 80, 56 or 34 km loop, and embrace invigorating climbs and thrilling descents. Conquer gravel roads and navigate jeep tracks in this magical and captivating natural landscape.

The bulk of the Mountain Bike rides are on gravel secondary roads and sections are rough with sandy sections. A few short sections of single track are included in the three events. Gravel Bikes should be able to ride most of the routes. The choice is yours as to what bike suites your level of experience.

ROAD RIDES – 13 July 2025

Challenge yourself in the Knysna Cycle Tour’s road races during the Knysna Oyster Festival! With both 50 km and 100 km options, these scenic routes cater to riders of varying endurance levels. Starting in the heart of Knysna, the courses take you along winding roads framed by lush forests and breathtaking coastal views, providing a ride that’s as visually rewarding as it is thrilling. Whether you’re a seasoned cyclist aiming for a new personal best or looking to enjoy a beautiful ride with fellow enthusiasts, these races offer an unforgettable journey through one of South Africa’s most scenic regions.
