Farleigh routes
In the forest at the foot of the Outenqiua mountains is where you’ll find the Farleigh Mountain Bike trails. There are three circular route options
Drupkelders hiking trail
This magnificent indigenous forest trail leads down to enormous rock pools. Pack your rucksack with a picnic and swimming costume.
Diepwalle forest elephant trails
sleep over and enjoy some of the best day walks, mountain cycle routes that take you into the heart of the Knysna Forest.
Komsepad trail at Gouna forest
A wonderful, challenging ride through the indigenous Gouna forest. Lots of climbing, regardless of which way round you go.
Terblans trail
The Terblans trail is an easy and beautiful walk through the indigenous Knysna forest. It starts and ends at the Grootdraai picnic site, ideal for a picnic before or after the hike.
Harkerville hiking trails
Access to the facilities is gratis by means of self-issue permits at various unmanned access points. Certain access points are however manned at times, when entry fees will be levied.
Spitskop view point
The highest accessible peak in the Knysna area, provides visitors with panoramic views of the town and outlying areas.
Diepwalle to Harkerville: Petrus-se-Brand cycle route
The camp forms the start point for the 22.4km Petrus-se-Brand Cycle Route which runs from Diepwalle Forest Station to Harkerville (Garden of Eden on the N2 between Knysna and Plettenberg Bay)
Jubilee Creek Nature Reserve walk
Probably the most beautiful picnic spot in the Knysna indigenous forests. Located in two forest clearings, alongside a stream, this site is very popular with young families – the stream is the perfect place for water-play.
