Harkerville hiking trails

Access to the facilities is gratis by means of self-issue permits at various unmanned access points. Certain access points are however manned at times, when entry fees will be levied.

Knysna Ziplines

An adrenaline-filled experience that has you gliding over the treetops and giving you a spectacular view of the surrounding forest and natural landscapes.

Terblans trail

The Terblans trail is an easy and beautiful walk through the  indigenous Knysna forest. It starts and ends at the Grootdraai picnic site, ideal for a picnic before or after the hike.

Goukamma Nature Reserve

Goukamma Nature Reserve is a lovely coastal sand dune and fresh-water lake complex lying between Knysna and Sedgefield.

Garden of Eden

The walk follows over 1km of wooden board walks and bridges across streams and is entirely wheelchair friendly and ideal for the elderly wanting to visit the forest.

Southern Comfort

Southern Comfort offers accommodation for school tours as well as guided quad bike rides in the Knysna forest.

Bird Watcher

Guided birding tours for general and more advanced birding.

Homtini route

Most of the trail follows fairly easy contours in the indigenous forest and plantation. It is enhanced by winding single-track slip-paths, shady plantation and indigenous forest roads offering a regular bird’s eye view of the surrounding area. It is a moderate ride with the exception of a steep 4km climb.
