Knysna Tourism members help spread the festive cheer!
Members of Knysna Tourism helped to bring a bit more cheer to the festive season of children in our municipal area that need it the most, by donating presents to Christmas parties held by Masithandane in Sedgefield and the Lukhanyiso safe house in Knysna.
Knysna Tourism CEO Shaun van Eck said that members were asked to bring gifts to the Meet and Greet functions held on 1 December. “Members who attended one of the two functions brought along gifts wrapped in colourful paper. Some members delivered gifts to our office in Main Road and others still delivered gifts straight to the parties!”
“The gifts were sorted and stored at Knysna Tourism and taken to the venues on the days of their respective parties,” said van Eck. “Masithandane celebrated first on 7 December and Lukhanyiso held their party on Monday 12 December.”
“This truly is the season for giving,” van Eck concluded. “We thank our members for their generosity – together we have made a very real difference to these children’s lives.”
Knysna Tourism Meet and Greet’s are a platform for the organisation to report on new and exciting trends and information to its members, and for members to create sustainable and mutually beneficial networks. Two functions will be held per Meet and Greet-day to suit all members’ schedules.
