Noetzie Beach has remained a favourite destination for adventure seekers in the past and remains so to this day. The pristine and relatively isolated sandy shore is in the Sinclair Nature Area, and is protected by the Noetzie Conservancy. The beach is an ideal place for day long trips; the kids will be endlessly entertained; just don’t forget to pack a boogie board and a picnic lunch.

HOURS: Everyday
WHERE: Noetzie

One of the main attractions of Noetzie are the six “castles” that are built next to the water’s edge. Although the “castles” were never planned, the natural stone they were built from resembled a fortress; soon after a few turrets were added to the buildings. Nowadays, the beach hosts secluded weddings and other special events. The “castles” are for rent on a nightly basis and are a fantastic way to spoil yourself over the holiday period. If that’s a little out of your budget, why not take along bottle of chilled Sauvignon Blanc and watch a fantastic sunset on a deckchair.

Only 10 minutes from Knysna, the beach is easily accessible and even though the road leading to the beach is a gravel one, it is fine for any car to drive. When travelling from Knysna on the N2 (towards Plettenberg Bay), take a right after the overhead pedestrian bridge. It is a short drive to the beach.
