Take care not to go too deep into the water, as the currents here are extremely strong. During the peak-season in summer there may be lifeguards that will section off an area they deem safe for swimming, but take caution at all times.
Brenton on Sea is as beautiful as beaches get and it is not unusual to see a happy couple making their vows on their wedding day- especially at sunset. Kids will love exploring the rock pools that can often be accessed at low tide- don’t forget their fishing nets.
After a long day at the beach, you may want to go to the restaurant upstairs. The deck and views are spectacular. Go on, have a cocktail and celebrate your holiday in style. Brenton on Sea is about 20km from the centre of Knysna. To get there, drive on the N2 towards George. At the White Bridge, take a right and follow the winding road all the way up (and down) until you reach the beach.
There is also a small shop here to buy supplies; cool drinks, snacks and the like.
