US media visit Knysna

South African Tourism has been incredibly supportive of Knysna & Partners’ effort to get the news out to the world that Knysna is welcoming tourists following the devastating fires in June.

Last week, a group of three top journalists from the US were in Knysna courtesy of SAT to see the town and experience some of the activities themselves.

The visit was coordinated by Judy Pillay, Operations Manager for South African Tourism in the USA who said that South African Tourism was fully behind Knysna and wanted to assist as far as possible in getting tourism back on track. “Knysna has so much to offer tourists and it’s wonderful to see that it’s business as usual here,” she said.

The journalists are all vastly experienced travel writers, who will be contributing stories to well-known high end media in the US.

Denise Mattia is on her first visit to South Africa and will be writing for Tripwich.com, JAX FAX and NY Lifestyles, covering all aspects of travel, as well as art and architecture, culture, food and wine, hotels and resorts, LGBT events, spas and sports activities.

Angela Fairhurst is also visiting South African for the first time and has a commission to write a destination and Luxe Lodgings story for PeterGreenberg.com, one of the most influential online travel guides in the world.

Chelsye Burrows will be covering the WBGO Joy of Jazz Festival, Johannesburg, Knysna, Cape Town and other itinerary highlights from South Africa for Atlanta Voice.
The group was welcomed to Knysna by Knysna & Partners who assisted with setting up their itinerary, and each journalist was presented with a #KnysnaRises t-shirt to take back home.
