Gates open at Timber Village at 6pm. Food and drink will be served at the Festival's food court.

PJ POWERS Ft. Tigger Reunert

South African music legend PJ Powers “Thandeka” is a much-loved, award-winning singer with a multitude of gold and platinum albums under her belt.

A born and bred Durban girl, her career started in the 1980s as the lead singer of Hotline, a band that blazed a trail, touring through a tumultuous South Africa on the back of songs that have been indelibly stamped into the psyche of the nation. “Feel so Strong,” “Jabulani,” “There is an Answer” and many more. It was during this period that she was given the name “Thandeka” by her adoring fans.

She then went on to pursue a solo career that flourished during the 1990s and 2000s and saw her travel the world performing in concerts and at events including the proud moment when she sang the, now internationally famous, “World in Union” at the rugby world cup. Her most recent hits include chart-topping singles such as “Destiny,” “Stay” and the recently penned “Walk in my Shoes” and “Born to an Audience.” PJ also teamed up to sing a hip hop version of “Jabulani” with the late HHP (Hip Hop Pantsula.) In April 2017 PJ produced “Home to Africa”, a collaboration with Ugandan RnB artists Radio & Weazel.

She is presently in the studio working on her fifth solo album which promises to bring forth a batch of new hits. She has performed for Kings and Queens, Presidents and Prima Donnas, Vagabonds, Ne’er do wells, Superstars and hundreds of thousands of music lovers during a lifetime of playing for the audiences she loves. She has shared the stage with a long list of musicians from near and far. Artists like as Eric Clapton, Johnny Clegg, Joan Armatrading, Annie Lennox, Peter Gabriel, Hugh Masekela, Sibongile Khumalo, the Mahotella Queens, Youssou N Dour, Miriam Makeba, Harry Belafonte, The Corrs and Mike and the Mechanics to mention a few.

As someone that Madiba held close to his heart, she was asked to write the official song for her beloved ‘Tata’ on his 85th birthday which she sang to him and a host of luminaries during the internationally broadcast celebration.

As a true daughter of Africa, she continues to enthral audiences wherever she plays will be at The Timber Fest in Knysna with her long-time side-man and Knysna local, Tigger Reunert for a show on Saturday 14th March and they are sure to rock the socks off all that attend.

Steve is an upbeat and energetic singer/songwriter born and raised in the culturally rich and bustling city of Johannesburg, South Africa. His music is a tasty blend between folk harmonies and afro-centric grooves. Steve maintains a seamless balance between sing-along melodies and dance-inducing grooves; his live show is as zestful as his personality.

Steve’s energy and positivity is as contagious as it is refreshing. His engaging presence and

cheerful attitude will leave you captivated, motivated and invigorated. Sing. Dance. Smile:)"

December nights in Sedgefield

Tony Cox's series of concerts, December Nights in Sedgefield, is a retrospective of one of the most influential South African acoustic guitarists of our time.

And for the first time in Knysna, he'll have the euphonious tones of his daughter Thuli to help him sweep fans along on the journey of fine musicianship laced with his throwaway humour and infectious social sideswipes.

Cox is a multiple award-winning guitarist who has travelled the world and performed on its finest stages.

His performances across SA and beyond are the stuff of legends. He now resides in Sedgefield and is putting on this series of shows for the good people of his chosen town and, of course, anyone passing through who would like to immerse their ears in an evening of world-class music.

Cox's golden-voiced daughter Thuli will be supporting her dad with a set of jazz and pop covers. There quite simply is no better way to spend a December evening in Sedgefield.

December Nights will go down on 15, 22 and 29 December at St Anthony's Church hall, Flamingo Ave, Sedgefield. Show starts at 19:00 and tickets cost R120 for adults, while pensioners and students pay only R80. Tickets available at www.quicket.co.za, and discounted tickets only available at the Fijnbosch Coffee Shoppe, 31 Main Service Road, Sedgefield. Phone 044 343 1870.

* Please note: no tickets will be sold at the door.

Roan Ash is a multi-talented singer and songwriter from Pretoria with a modern-countryblues-folk style. He started playing guitar in 2001, and in 2006 he started opening for other bands, and doing his own live performances. Since then, Roan has shared the stage with artists including Dan Patlansky, Matthew Mole Jan Blohm, Koos Kombuis, Arno Carstens, Vusi Mahlasela, Glaskas, Klopjag, Robin Auld, Albert Frost and others.

In February 2015, Roan recorded and released his debut album The Traveller, independently. He launched it to a full house at the iconic Atterbury Theatre, and toured it nationwide. He has performed at major art and culture festivals including Innibos and the Fijnwyn Wine Festival. Roan was a contestant on the first season of The Voice, South Africa, where he was instantly noticed by the music industry. In 2016, he co-wrote and recorded the theme song of the feature film “Sy Klink Soos Lente” with Bouwer Bosch and Dawie De Jager, which is receiving widespread acclaim. Roan joined the Inhoud Huis team in 2016, where he is working with songwriters including Christoph Kotze (Appel) and Johan Vorster on his next album. He is well on his way to a successful music career, with regular live shows of his powerful songs. He combines his soothing crunch style vocals together with meaningful songs and heartfelt performances. He describes his music as being inspired by his life’s journey.

After digitally releasing his brand new album “Whiskey to my soul” in April, Roan has been the talk of the town, not only locally but internationally as well. He has sold out the Atterbury Theatre two weeks prior to his physical album launch on 22 May 2018.

The first ever Knysna International Guitar Night takes place at the Montessori School in Knysna on
the 31st March featuring the extraordinary percussive guitarist Thomas Leeb who is Austrian but
now hails from California USA. Doubling up the acoustic guitar-power quotient on the night is
South Africa's own, Tony Cox, making this an absolutely not to be missed, humdinger of a guitarslinging
show, the likes of which have probably not been seen in this region before.

Thomas Leeb played his first solo concert at the age of fifteen and released his first acoustic guitar
album at seventeen. Leeb is a frequent performer at concerts and festivals in Asia, the Americas
and Europe and has been featured in numerous guitar magazines all over the world. Every year,
he teaches workshops and master classes in universities and colleges and his album “Desert
Pirate” was voted one of the essential albums of the last twenty years by Acoustic Guitar

Thomas's peculiar guitar style owes as much to percussive techniques as traditional
fingerstyle guitar. What sets Thomas Leeb apart from some of his contemporaries is his
ability to make pyrotechnics serve the music. Three years studying West African traditional
music give him a sense of timing and groove that is unusual in a guitarist. All this has
earned him a loyal world-wide following.

Tony Cox should not need much introduction to South African audiences. This multiple awardwinning
guitar player is about to release a critically acclaimed vocal album titled Enormous Flowers
that has seen the home-grown acoustic guitar legend reach a whole other audience. He will be
mixing it up on the night with songs from the new album and his trade-mark, jaw-dropping guitar
