On top of the world, looking down on creation. Set high in the hills above Knysna, Simola commands an awe-inspiring view of the entire surroundings, taking in rolling hills, valleys and a vast shimmering blue expanse of the Knysna lagoon leading to the famous Heads etched on the horizon...
As part of the 33rd Pick n Pay Knysna Oyster Festival’s many sporting events, Simola Hotel Country Club & Spa hosted a fun trail run for children aged between 6 - 12 years old, The Casper Kids Adventure Run on Saturday, July 2.
The fun filled mini obstacle course of either 2 or 4 kms saw more than 50 youngsters slip, slide and climb over the obstacles set out by the events company, Magnetic South organisers. The name of the game was fun but this didn’t stop the stars of the future from running some very fast times.
Following the race face painting, hamburgers and a movie were all thrown in to ensure that the children were well entertained while their parents readied themselves for and completed the Simola Phantom Night Run.
Keeping your head down at Simola can be a challenge; simply because the views around the course are awe-enspiring, and with this, it is clear to see why Simola takes its place as one of South Africa's premier golfing destinations. It's also the first Jack Nicklaus Signature course on the Garden Route, reflecting the maestro's philosophy of attuning the layout and design to the natural lie of the land.
Located high up in the hills above the Garden Route town of Knysna, this golf & country estate is a world apart. Fairways merge seamlessly with lush indigenous vegetation and forests creating an evocative vista of undulating green hills and dales descending gently down to the Knysna River
