Knysna Tourism CEO Shaun van Eck said they were delighted. “Winning this award is a great honour and the fact that Knysna Tourism has won it two years running is proof of our team’s dedication to excellence. This award is recognition of the fantastic teamwork of the staff at Knysna Tourism.”

Van Eck said that the foundation for the award is a passionate focus on giving visitors to Knysna a beautiful experience. “From the moment they click on our website or pop in to our info centre, we aim to create special moments in their lives during their stay in Knysna. Innovation and passion are values that every staff member strives for.”

According to van Eck maintaining a good relationship with their main stakeholders, especially the Knysna Municipality, played a role in winning this award. “The municipality shares our passion and vision for Knysna and as our main funder it directly contributes to our success.”

Van Eck also thanked the Knysna Tourism Board members for their contribution and dedication to tourism in the town, as well as all Knysna Tourism members. “We are aided tremendously by these top industry leaders and without their help and support we will not be able to win these awards.”

The Western Cape Provincial Tourism Awards are held annually in Cape Town.
