Welcome to the 2020 virtual Rotary Knysna Cycle Tour. It’s not quite the way we anticipated running the cycle tour this year, but then COVID-19 has turned the world on its head and we have not been spared.

We recently conducted a rider survey to determine interest in some of the virtual race options under consideration by our team. The results led us to select the following two virtual events as part of the Virtual Knysna Oyster Festival.

1. Zwift Meet Up Rides

For those with access to the Zwift platform, as well as all the necessary gear, we have 100 places available in each of the four competitive group rides which you will contest from the comfort of your static home set-up!

Mimicking the real Knysna Cycle Tour, we are offering two days of action with the option of you joining us for either, or both, of the days as below depending on your ride-style preference.

Saturday, 27 June
MTB style ride with the option to choose either a 44km or 66km ride.

Sunday, 28 June
Road Race style ride with the option to choose either a 44km or 66km ride.

Should you wish to sign up to join in on the Zwift action, please click on the “Sign Me Up” button below.

Strava Competition (21 -28 June)

In the week leading up to the Festival and the weekend we will run various competitions on Strava, aimed at national as well as Eden based participants.

Nationally, there will be prizes for the male and female riders that do the most kilometres, most meters climbed and longest ride.

Locally for Eden-based participants, we will set up three courses (one family ride, one road & one MTB) which anyone in the area can have a crack at setting the best time for. Also within the local routes we will have segments that will be monitored by Strava for the duration of the competition.

Riders can simply join our Knysna Cycle Tour club on Strava (see picture below for reference) and start getting those legs ready for the week of 21-28 June.
This is a charity event with proceeds going to good causes, please feel free to make a donation to the Rotary Knysna Cycle Tour,
First National Bank, Knysna branch, Branch Code: 210 214, Account number: 628 438 509 19. Account type: Cheque.
