A stunning eight-page article in the April issue of Getaway magazine entitled, “Soaking up Eden’s Return to Bounty,” highlights Knysna’s recovery after the fires of June 2017.

Journalist Welcome Lishiva and photographer Gareth van Nelson visited Knysna and Sedgefield in November last year and spent four days travelling around the area, taking photographs, interviewing stakeholders and experiencing some of the tourism activities on offer, including the Drupkelders Trail, a beer tasting at Mitchell’s Brewery, a Segway tour, a visit to Xolweni township and Judah Square, and a night on a Knysna Houseboat.

“These forests are a drawcard for locals and visitors alike and play a significant role in the town’s tourism sector, which is Knysna’s biggest economic driver,” writes Lishiva. “Activities in the town range from food and adventure to festivals and cultural tours.”
