Join us for the Knysna Day of Appreciation held at Pledge Nature Reserve. This is a private initiative, arranged by a group of locals, to recognise the losses suffered by so many in the area and remember and appreciate the magnificent deeds, support and assistance from within our community and beyond. We’ll plant a commemorative tree and listen to local school choirs/musicians.
Ashley Barnes from Knysna Rocks will facilitate the launch of “Healing Hearts of Knysna”. Community members are invited to contribute pebbles, painted with a message of appreciation, encouragement and/or hope or bring your own pebble and paint it at the event. The painted pebbles will be mounted into the shape of a giant heart and mounted at a future date. Painted pebbles may also be dropped of at The German Shop or Metelerkamps, before the event. Smooth, rounded palm-sized pebbles should be decorated with acrylic paint and preferably sealed with acrylic sealant.
Guests have the opportunity to buy a tree for R200 at the Reserve. In return they will receive a Pledge Dertificate, and the trees will be planted in identified area after the event.
The entrance fee is R10 per adult or child. All proceeds will go towards the rehabilitation of the Reserve.
Eats and drinks will also be available for purchase on the day
