The Pick n Pay Knysna Oyster Festival has announced that this year’s event will take place from 29 June – 8 July 2018, and with more than 100 activities spread over ten days, visitors will be spoilt for choice. The premium sport and lifestyle festival has become an institution on South Africa’s winter calendar, and provides sports lovers, families and adventurers a chance to experience some of South Africa’s most spectacular natural scenery while enjoying a host of activities.

Indulge in good food and drink with local restaurants offering special themed menus. Enjoy the best talent on various stages with concerts, comedy, fashion shows and more, while an adventure filled programme keeps the kids busy.

The sporting events of the Pick n Pay Knysna Oyster Festival attracts top athletes and enthusiasts, and this year the Momentum Knysna Cycle Tour celebrates its 31st anniversary. The Mountain Bike Events take place on Saturday 30 June and offer an 80km, 50km, 30km, and 15km route, as well as the newer 30km E-bike race. The Momentum Knysna Cycle Tour Road Races are on Sunday 1 July, with both a 115km and 50km route.

In an exciting development this year, the Momentum Knysna Cycle Tour has confirmed that the 80km and 50km MTB events and the 115km Road Race will be seeding events for the 2019 Cape Town Cycle Tour.

The Momentum Knysna Forest Marathon & Half Marathon are two of South Africa’s most sought-after running events and this year they take place on Saturday 7 July. Runners experience breath-taking views over the Knysna Lagoon towards the Knysna Heads, the perfect inspiration as they approach the finish.

Entries for the Momentum Knysna Cycle Tour and the Momentum Knysna Forest Marathon are available now.

So plan a winter holiday and discover the wonders of the Garden Route by enjoying walks in the indigenous Knysna Forest, viewing the famous Knysna Heads and taking a ferry across the lagoon to the Featherbed Nature Reserve. Following the devastating fires in June last year, the regrowth of the region has been phenomenal, supported by the Knysna Tourism #Knysnarises campaign.

Come and support the Knysna community and enjoy ten days of fun and adventure! Enter the marathons at Cycle tour entries can be found at
