Exciting programme for final Oyster Festival weekend

The Pick n Pay Knysna Oyster Festival is in full swing, but there is still much to look forward to as the events continue until Sunday.

With registration for the Momentum Knysna Forest Marathon happening today, there'll be lots of action at the Festival Grounds including inflatable fun and games for the kids,and the Momentum Health Kiddies Area.

Down at the Hornlee Sports Grounds you can watch the Oyster Festival Netball Tournament today from 6pm to 11pm and tomorrow from 9am to 6pm. Emo Adams will be entertaining the crowds at Knysna Secondary School from 6.30pm. 

Tomorrow, Saturday, is the iconic Knysna Forest Marathon - catch the vibe at the finish on the Festival Grounds.

The Official Knysna Oyster Festival After Party at WHE+ Restaurant on Thesen Harbour Town is not to be missed with an epic music line up including Absolutely Fabulous, Fire and Stix, DJ Mickey & DJ Nick. There will be big screen TVs for rugby fanatics and dance floors that are guaranteed to leave you breathless! Limited menus and a cash bar will be the order of the day and it's strictly NO UNDER 18s. Saturday's House of Entertainment Show at Hornlee Civic Centre will be an evening of live music and fun, featuring House of Entertainment Band Paul Amas, Aniel Ewerts and Lesinda Stalmeester.

On Sunday, make an early start with the Houtkapper Trail Run consisting of 9km, 15km and 27km in a scenic forest setting. The Road & safety briefing will be at 08:15  (compulsory) and the races starts at 08:30. For more information contact Gavin Bezuidenhoudt on 083 502 7935.

Also, don't miss the Knysna Oyster Festival Soccer Tournament finals at Hornlee Sports Ground, from 3pm - 9pm.

The Green Carpet Fashion Extravaganza at Vinyl on Main, from 3pm - 11pm is a cultural fashion show linked to nature. Local designer’s will showcase their latest ranges and there will be over six hours of local music and entertainment by DJ’s from Knysna and George and our very own jazz band. Local beadwork, jewellery and accessories will be available from the stalls inside the venue. Knysna Selfie will be at the venue for your instant photo prints! On Sunday, the festival will end on a high note with Andrew Young and a full back-up band performing at the Knysna Waterfront from 11:30am to 3.30pm. They will be in the square next to Drydock Food Company, so bring you own chair, or book your seat now on (044) 382 7310 and enjoy a fabulous show!
