Congratulations to Mitchell’s Knysna on winning the following awards at the 2017 South African National Beer Trophy (SANBT) in August:

• Bosun's Pale Ale = GOLD
• Old Wobbly Strong Lager = GOLD
• Milk and Honey Ale = SILVER
• 90 Shilling Ale = SILVER

These beers, along with Forester's Lager and Raven Stout are available nationwide on tap and in bottle.

Mitchell's Knysna, established in 1983, is South Africa's pioneering and award-winning original craft beer.

Blogger Lucy Corne, known as the Brewmistress, author of SA's first dedicated beer book African Brew, and qualified Beer Judge Certification Program (BJCP) judge writes: “For me, one of the highlights was that the SANBT awards have marked a return to the scene for Mitchell’s. The Knysna-based microbrewery is South Africa’s oldest but has recently been eclipsed by newer brands. Their rebrand and recipe overhaul has really paid off and it’s great to see them getting back in the game.”
